Wales is a country with an enviable amount of things to do and places to see. It is an ideal holiday destination, with lots of Wales being within a couple of hours drive for most of the UK. The country has a good balance of lively cities and attractive, quieter villages that are waiting to be explored. As with any UK destination, there are a wide variety of activities and tourist attractions to entertain everyone. For those who enjoy active holidays, then Wales has abseiling, climbing, surfing and diving. Abseiling and climbing facilities are available indoor across Wales, but to truly sample the experience then the crags and mountains of Snowdonia, the sea cliffs of Pembrokeshire and Gower Peninsula are the best places to head towards. For water sport lovers, surfing and diving can be enjoyed throughout the coastal regions of Wales, such as Anglesey, Gower Peninsula, Llyn Peninsula and Pembrokeshire. If you enjoy more serene activities, fishing and hiking is widely available all over Wales. Fishers can enjoy game, sea and coarse fishing across Wales’ 17 fishing areas. There are endless miles of walks that hikers can take in Wales. Scaling Snowdon is a must-do for mountaineers of all levels. As proud a nation out there, Wales has a number of attractions on its history. There are a number of castles, like the impressive Cardiff Castle, as well as lesser known ones such as Harlech Castle and Caerphilly Castle which are worth visiting. Offerings such as The National Museum in Cardiff also provide an exciting and intriguing visit to remember. It would be hard to identify everything Wales has to offer. However, with detailed research and investigation before a trip, you can really find a part of Wales for you. A trip to Wales really can provide lasting memories like no other.
