Much of the area is within the boundaries of Peak District National Park, which is thought to attract around 22 million visitors per year.

There are a number of pretty quaint villages in the Peak District, which provide a perfect stop off point for a drink, something to eat or time to roam. Many of the villages boast traditional tea rooms, as well as pubs full of character and atmosphere. If you like shopping, then the villages and towns of the Peaks have an assorted range of shops for all interests and hobbies. Forget all your high street brands, the Peaks give you handmade British products made by individuals from the region. You can find art and craft, pottery and antique shops alongside independent organic butchers and bakers.
The Peak District is ideally located for visitors from all over the UK, as it is easily accessible from Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and Manchester.
Much of the Peaks appear to be natural, untouched and peaceful, which really helps visitors to get away from all of the stresses of home. Some of the scenery and wildlife is as beautiful as can be found in the UK, and is special at any time of the year, from spring right through to winter. |
