However, there are many more award winning chip shops in the area that specialise in offering a variety of fish asides from your typical haddock or cod. There are several areas of wonderful open space to be explored in the two regions, such as The Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors and Northumberland National Park, all of which have been awarded ‘National Park’ status. Here, you can enjoy activities for all of the family, such as walking, cycling, horse riding and many more activities. The pubs, cafes and tea rooms amongst them all provide a tranquil break in between too. For a taste of life in rural Britain then you will be hard pushed to find a better option than these. It’s a lovely escape and, depending on your destination, can offer a city close by for all your shopping and nightlife needs, but far enough away so that you can enjoy the quiet and peaceful location to truly enjoy a relaxing, well-earned break.
